Welcome to the Meditation Safety & Support Hub (UK)

Meditation can be meaningful, stabilising, and transformative — but it is not the same for everyone. Some people experience unexpected, confusing, or distressing effects during or after practice, and many struggle to find clear, non‑judgemental support. This website exists to change that.

We offer reliable, secular, research‑informed information about meditation‑related challenges as well as what can happen when these are misunderstood or badly handled. Along with practical guidance for practitioners, teachers, and organisations, our aim is to create a culture of transparency, safety, and ethical care within the UK mindfulness and meditation community.

Here you’ll find resources to help you:

  • understand a wide range of meditation‑related experiences

  • recognise when additional support may be helpful

  • talk to teachers or health professionals with confidence

  • navigate practice in a grounded, informed way

  • access UK‑specific pathways for further help

This hub is not anti‑meditation. It is pro‑safety, pro‑transparency, and pro‑human dignity. Our goal is simple: to ensure that anyone who meditates has access to honest information and appropriate support, and that no one feels alone or dismissed when practice becomes difficult.
